HISTORY AND ORIGIN OF AMERICA :

First Residents of what is now the United States emigrated from Asia over 15,000 years ago by crossing Beringia into what is now Present Day ALASKA. and the Archaeological Evidence of these people, i.e. the ancestors of the Native Americans, dates back to 14,000 years ago.

Christopher Columbus was the First European to land in the territory of (Now United States) when he arrived in Puerto Rico in 1492. The subsequent arrival of settlers from Europe begn the Colonial History of The United States. The Thirteen English colonies that would become the original US States were founded along the east coast begining in 1607. Spain, France and Russia also founded small settlements in what would become US territory.

Etymology : In 1507, German cartographer Martin Waldseemuller produced a world map on which he bamed the lands of the Western Hemisphere "America" after Italian Explorer and cartographer Amerigo Vespucci. The former British Colonies first used the country's modern name in the Declaration of Independence, the "unanimous Declaration of the thirteen United States of America" on 04-July-1776. In July 11, 1778 "United States of America" was used on the country's BILLS OF EXCHANGE, and it has been the official name ever since.

There are Many Colonial Period :
  1. Spanish Colonization - came with Christopher Columbus Second Expedition (Nov. 19, 1493).
  2. Dutch Colonization - Nieuw Nederland, or New Netherland, was the Seventeenth Century Dutch Colonial Province on the Eastern Coast of North America.
  3. French Colonization - Known as New France and was the area Colonized by France in North America, during a period extending from the exploration of the Saint Lawrance River, by Jacques Cartier in 1534, to the cession of New France to Sain abd Britain in 1763.
  4. British Colonization - The Strip of Land along the settled primarily by English Colonists in the Seventeenth Sentury, along with much smaller numbers of DUTCH and SWEDES. Colonial America was defined by a severe labor shortage that employed forms of Unfree Labor Such as Slavery and Indentured Servitude.
THE FORMATION OF UNITED STATES OF AMERICA - 1776 - 1789
The Thirteen Colonies began a rebellion against British Rule in 1775 and proclaimed their Independence in 1776. They subsequently constituted the first Thirteen States of the United States of America. The 1783 Treaty of Paris represented the Kingdom of GREAT BRITAIN's formal acknowledgement of the United States as "FREE SOVEREIGN and INDEPENDENT STATES.

The Early National Era (1789 - 1848)


Civil War Era : 1849 - 1865
African American Slavery Increases, 1850 it was settled by Compromise, admission of CALIFORNIA as a Free State and the passage of the Fugitive Slave Act.

Reconstruction and the Gilded Age : 1865 - 1890
In this Era The RECONSTRUCTION AMENDMENTS were passed to expand civil rights for black Americans. which Outlawed Slavery.

Progressivism - Imperialism - and WORLD WAR I (1890 - 1918)

Gilded Age Ended and came the Progressive Era -
whose followers called for reform over Percived Industrial Corruption.
The Era Lasted from 1900 to 1918,
i.e. the End of World War I.
